2018 BDGA Transit Valley Stroke Play Championship

Eligibility
This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:
- Membership: Be a member of the BDGA, defined as either belonging to (1) an BDGA member club or (2) the 2018 BDGA Associate Member Program.
- Age: There is no age restriction to participate in this event.
- Handicap Index: There is no Handicap Index requirement.
Divisions
There will be both a scratch and a handicap division. Players will compete in both divisions. Prizes will be given based on a player’s best score in one of the divisions. For example, if a player finishes 5th in the scratch division and 4th in the handicap division, he will receive the 4th place prize. Players cannot win a prize in both divisions.
The scratch division will also compete for “Oncore Golf Race to the Porter Cup” points. Although not in a separate division for the tournament, points will be given for the “L & M Financial Race to the Senior Porter Cup” for the seniors in the event. Seniors can earn points in both the open and senior divisions.
Format
The format of this championship is 18 holes of individual stroke play with full handicap applied for the handicap division.
Field Size
The field of this championship is limited to 80 players. Players entering after the first 80 will be put on a wait list.
Pairings
The pairings (hole assignments) will be available on Sunday, September 23 and will be emailed to all players
Pairing requests will not be accommodated for any point’s event.
Ties
If there is a tie for first place, a sudden-death will be used unless it is impossible due to darkness or course unavailability. Otherwise, ties for prizes/awards will be broken using the USGA method of matching scorecards, which compares the last nine holes (10-18), then last six holes (13-18), last three holes (16-18), and last hole (18).
Golf Carts and Range
Payment for use of golf carts and the range is included in your entry fee. Players may choose to walk if desired.
Player Meal and Refreshments
Food will be served upon completion of the round for all golfers. Refreshments will be available for purchase before and after the round.
Prizes and Awards
The champion will receive a trophy. Additional top finishers in both divisions (based on number of entrants) will receive prizes as gift certificates from the pro shop.
Entry Deadline
All entries must be received by the BDGA by 5:00pm on Friday, September 21, 2018. Entries will not be accepted if they are late, incomplete, faxed, emailed, or sent without full payment.
Refund Policy
The entry fee will be refunded if a player withdraws prior to the close of entries, less a $10 service fee.
